Buckwheat International Ski Classic 2024

NOTE: Registration fee will be $50 for those entered in the three adult 10K, 16K, and 32K races, and $25 for kids 12 and under in the 5K race. Registration includes a shirt and all the fun and food at the Aid Station, plus more things happening in Skagway.

NOTE: You will be directed to online registration forms through Zone 4. There is one registration form online for all races and racers. There will be no late registration after 3 pm AK Time March 8. After you register, click on SEE WHO’S COMING to see your name and others who will be joining us!

We will be using timing chips on all courses at Log Cabin.

Race Date: Saturday, March 9, 2024

Races: Adult 32K, 16K and 10K; Kids 5K

PRIZE FOR BEST COSTUME – “A BUCKWHEAT ODYSSEY: Monsters, Myths & Mischief”  Upper Dewey Lake cabin package this summer from Skagway Rec. Center with one-way flight by TEMSCO Helicopters.

STARTING WINDOW will be 8 am to 11 am Alaska Time (10-1 Yukon) and the course will close at 2 pm (4 pm Yukon).  Or you may choose to start during the mass start times below.

OPTIONAL MASS START TIMES (All Alaska Time):

9:30 AM – 32K

9:45 AM – 16K

10 AM – 10K

10:15 AM – 5K kids (12 & under)

AWARDS CEREMONY – Returns to Eagles Hall Theatre (6th & Broadway). Medals for top 3 male/female in each race, special awards, ski drawing for members, Ms. Buckwheat presentation. Doors open 5:30 pm, awards begin at 6. See schedule for more details.

JOIN & SUPPORT LOG CABIN SKI SOCIETY – You may join on the Registration form for an additional $10, which makes you eligible for the Ski Drawing at the Awards Ceremony in Skagway. We also welcome additional donations on the form to LCSS.

BORDER CROSSINGS – Remember to Bring your Passport! If heading north, we suggest you allow at least an hour if coming from Skagway to make the start on time. Expect lines at Fraser border crossing on way north to Log Cabin, and at the Skagway Port of Entry on way south after the race.

PARKING – Please car pool if you can. Parking will be limited to the main Log Cabin lot. No parking on the highway. Any overflow parking will have to be at the highway turnout up the hill south of Log Cabin. There will be a shuttle between parking areas.

NO REFUNDS POLICY – We do not give refunds. If you are unable to race, then you may treat your entry fee as a donation to LCSS. We are a registered non-profit.
